This week I have been sending emails to the science fair contacts. I sent them reminders of the date and requesting that they confirm that they are coming. So, far four have respond and if the rest don't respond I will send a new email Sunday or Monday. GreenFuelz is coming to the science festival and is bring educational material on solar panels and ethol fuel. They are trying to bring a solar trailer and my contact is trying to call get his boss to agree. Also, I talked to the t-shirt guy for LEGIT. He wants to make a few changes so the short will not be so expensive. And today I will order new photos for the scrapbook. Also, I talked to the people who came Thursday about the boards about LEGIT. And a ACTW mentor came today and LEGIT spoke to her.

LEGO!
This week, I went to Creighton School District where there was a high school fair. I talked to families and kids and tried to convince them to come to Carl Hayden High School. Afterward I finished the LEGIT t-shirts showed it to the members send it to Diserae where she sent it to the shirt guy. Then I finished the LEGO program and I printed fifty copies. Then I printed hundred and twenty five copies of the constant forms. Then I helped set-up for LEGO. I painted posters and stapled the forms together.

Week!
This week I recontacted the people for the science festival and told that I will be frequently emailing them. And I contacted SolarCity and they said they will send the message to their event person. I will email them again on Monday if they do not email me anything. And I still waiting for Green Fuel Technology's response of a yes or no. The send me an email saying they are waiting for there CEO to approve of them coming and they want to present ethanol fuel or solar based products. I always have started the schematics for LEGIT and are currently working on them.

Week
This week I have been updated the scrapbook at home. I have done the pages of NURC, AUVSI, LEGIT and Falcon Retreat. And I'm going to ordered pictures for Railfair as soon as we get pictures of today's parade so I can order the photos together. And I reminded the LEGIT girls that there is only two days left in October month to ask for sponsorship for LEGIT. And as soon as today's over I'm going to buy new scrapbook paper because I am running low on paper.

This week
This week I've been mostly doing Legit things. Like putting spreadsheets for sponsors and designing t-shirts. I have also been looking through the mail for the robotics pictures I ordered but they have not arrived. And I went to Walrmart yesterday to print the photos since they haven't arrived but Walmart's picture center was not working. So, I tried find a new scrapbook but they only had tiny scrapbooks.

Stuff that Happened
This week me and Kelly have been working on website. And we have been thinking of ideas for the shirt and I will start designing starting Monday and hopefully be finished by Tuesday. Next I have been working on a Prezi present, in case one is needed. I have also ordered pics of the team to have them in the scrapbook by Rail Fair. Also, I have looked up a store that sells scrapbooks like the one the team has because the old scrapbook has no more room. And I want to have the scrapbook updated by Monday.

What happened this week
Monday I was absent because I was sick. On Tuesday I started to organize the FLL program as much as I can but can't finish it since not all the teams have registered. On Wednesday we had a LEGIT meeting and I tried looking for sponsors. Today I printed the "Science and Technology Club Constitution" to put in the scrapbook. And I got a small donation of tax credit on Wednesday.

Stuff that happened
Well the schematics is finally done. I just need to call the CPU store to get information on how the lens controllers attaches itself to the CPU. I started to get information for the program for FLL. Next we figured out what kind of wire we need for LEGIT a ATX to ITX cable. And I decided that I wanted to be a mentor for FLL so I have until Monday to finish reading the rules. So, far I have read what the theme is about and what kinds of challenges they need.

Schematics and Spreadsheet
Well I turned in the scholarships document to Maria and Bianca. Unfortunately Maria wanted the scholarships in a spread sheet format not a word document. So when I have spare time I will complete the spreadsheet. For now I am trying to finish the schematics. All I need to do is draw the USB cables from the depth senors and for the digital compass. But unfortunately Google Docs isn't working so now I will write a letter to Vikki Reed thanking her for helping us get funds.

Contacting and Schematics.
This week I helped some more freshman. I gave them a tour and taught two how to scrapbook. I also, have caught up on the scrapbook. I have written SeaPrech a email every other day but they still haven't respond; luckily Maria contacted them and they responded to her. And I tried contacting Battle bots but they didn't have a email we could contact them with and their phone number had taken me to a different company. But I found out that they have a face book and I'm going to try to contact them that way. Next I have been searching up NURC (National Underwater Robotics Challenge) teams to invite them to the invite. I contacted three yesterday but I haven't received anything back. I will continue to search them up today. Also, I have started the schematics for the AUVSI. I'm trying to keep it neat and understandable.

Electrical and scrapbooking
Monday I worked with Isabel, Bianca, and Diserae. We did some wiring on the board. And added Anderson to the wires. Then we shortened the wires for the switch so the switch won't take up as much space. We used three types of terminals. The Y ones, 90 degree ones, and the female spame ones's. Every once in a while we forget to put heat shrink on the wire and we have to unsolder the wire to put heat shrink.
Then on Tuesday I did a scrapbook page on Emrey-Riddle. I did the design of airplanes in the sky with clouds. Since Emrey-Riddle is an airplane college.

blogging
Haven't blogged in a while. So, I'll recap everything that has happened. I went to AZ regional and scouted. We won 1st place in the championship with our alliances, 330 (Beach Bots) and 2662 (Robo Krew). The score being 112 to 5. We were the alliance captain and this was our first win in 10 years. Ledge won the
Woodie Flowers Award. And the team won the Innovation in Control Award.
| 842, 330, and 2662 at AZ Regional |
After that I have been helping Isabel and Bianca work on the AUVSI board. What I thought was interesting about the board is that for some of the wires we are allowed to choose which is negative and which is positive.
Also, have done many scrapbook pages. There has been an article in the "Three Sonars" about our team's victory. Then the Phoenix Union High School District gave us a letter about our success. After that "Arizona Central" wrote an article on how we won 1st place in the Arizona Regional.
Then Carl Hayden Community High School threw us a assembly at 7th hour. We showed our chairman video and a video that Ledge made. After that they introduced the members of the teams. Soon after that Ledge explained the basic rules of the challenge this year.
And best part of all is that I'm going to national championship in St. Louis! I am so delighted when I found out. It was an amazing moment in my life. Well now I'm working harder to prove that they weren't wrong to choose me.

Electrical.
Today I helped Staphanie with the AUVSI schematic. We finished one of the three schematics. The one we finished was the power one. We did the black and white wires. Other things I have done in the past is help wiring the AUVSI board. And I got to use the new stripper( a tool that strips wires). It was strange. it was really big, blue and completely amazing when it came to stripping wires. It had a hole where you put the wire then squeezed on the handles to strip them. I got to help soulder the USB wires. They were very tiny. And I have also. worked on the scrapbook. I did two new scrapbook pages. One was for a certificate for Ledge on participation in FIRST LEGO. The other was letter appreciating Ledge's help. With the certificate I made the page look like blue bricks. On the other one I put squares within squares. I made a border around the letter.

Electrical and a bit of Scrap Booking.
I went to robotics at 4:00 p.m. because I had to finish a assignment from computer class (was a Valentine Day assignment) . But I got done and that's what counts. When I did arrive to robotics I first began to scrap book a page for the scrap book. Couldn't do electrical because Isabel and Bianca were in math class. The article was still about Oscar but different image. I'm doing a random triangle design. Didn't get to finish but hopefully will finish tomorrow.

After that I began to do electrical (Isabel had come back!). Me, Isabel and Desirae were soldering the four encoders on (two for each robot). We used two PWM. Each PWM has three wires a red, white and black. There were four wires on a encoder and each color had a number. Red=1, Brown=2, Blue=3 and Yellow=4. Then we hooked up the encoders and PWMs by red going to red, brown to white, blue to black (1st PWM) and yellow to white (2nd PWM). We soldiered the wires (we used up all the thin solder, barley had enough to finish the job) and used heat shrink. Then after that we used zip tie anchors and zip ties to secure them onto Dulce (2nd robot we are building for the FIRST FRC Robotics Competition). Next we fixed the wiring that was on Dulce because some of the wires and PWMs were too close to the motors. We didn't finish the encoders on Daniel (1st robot we build for the competition) because part of the encoder broke and we couldn't fix it. Then the second encoder for Daniel was ripped off by someone. So now we have to buy two new encoders which cost $25 dollars not counting the shipping. And since we want the encoders now, we will probably pay extra for one day delivery since the competition is so close. Hopefully this will not happen again and people will be more careful about the wiring.

Scrapbooking and a bit of Electrical.
Me, Isabel and Diasere worked on soldering the charger. I almost burned my face because I was holding the soldering iron so close to my face. But all was good that ended good. We successful soldered the charger. Then me and Stephanie went to the library to copy out an article. I was taught how to copy an article. After that I did a scrap booking for the cover of the article. Talks abouts Oscar and when he went to Mexico because he was a immigrant. But he went back to Mexico on his own free will because it was the right thing to do(name of article is "Right Thing to Do"). Then the government because of the media coverage Oscar had, realized that since he had a college degree and was attracting so much attention; gave him citizenship to come to America. The scrapbook page was mostly a neon green and dark purple square pattern but looked fairly well. I liked the one I did about the dream act better though......(that one had a lot of flags from countries and in big letter said "DREAM ACT"). But this page isn't that bad. Oh well I will try to do my best next time. Sorry about the quality of the picture I took it very quickly and on my cell phone.

Sick
On the morning of 2-2-11, I was beginning to do scrap booking but then I decided to do electrical with Stephanie. We were connecting the motors. I felt so proud when I was able to open the power distribution board slot with the wago. Every time I tried to open the slot I did it on the third or fourth try but I actually was able to open it on the first try. And in doing so I re-taught Stephanie how because she forgot. But then the bell rang so I left. Later on in the day at 4th period I felt quizzy. My 4th hour class was band and with all the noise it made my head hurt. Then I started to see doubles on my music notes. After that my friend touched my forehead and well said I needed to go to the nurse. So, I went and the nurse said I had a fever. She made me call my mom to pick me up. So, she came. I drank night quill and went to sleep for most of the day. But I feel better today.

yesterday
Yesterday after school I helped with soldering the wires for the battery. Then me and Desirae began to solder the censors. It took us a while to do this since the wire once it in the three way terminal kept coming out. But then finally we got it right and it stayed in. After that we heat shrink the wires to the terminal. Then me and Bianca put the censors on Daniel (the robot). It toke a lot of zip ties and zip ties anchors to make them stay on. Shortly after Ledge told us we needed to wire the lights to the robots so that once the robot turns on then the light would also be on. So, me, Isabel and Bianca did this. The gauges we worked with were really small and delicate. They were smaller than 16 gauges! That was the smallest gauges I have ever seen. It took about 5 seconds to solder the wires since they were so small and thin. So, thats basically what I did yesterday.

Saturday
Today I went to school at 8:00 a.m. At first since Bianca, Isabel and Stephanie weren't there I couldn't do electrical work. So, I helped Eddie make sure the wheel's gears were straight. Then at 9:20a.m I had to leave to go to band. Where we played our saxophone trio and got a rating of excellent. The other saxophone trio from Carl Hayden got a excellent as well. Then we came back at around 12:40 p.m. I went back to robotics and we left to eat lunch at 1:00p.m. I had subway and tried the new cookie raspberry cheesecake which was awesome! After that we went to back to the school. They finished making the arm for the robot hile me and Biance took the cibro and censours out of Heather(last year robot) and mounted them on Dulce (this year robot). We then wired and orgnized the wiring by putting anchors and zip ties. We left at 6:00p.

Electrical Work
I came in Saturday. Me, Isabel,Bianca and Diseare came in to dio electrical work. We worked on the mounting the fans, spike, power distribute and other things with bolts, washers and nuts. We were going to mount the router but we didn't have velcrow. Then we wired the fans to to the motors. So, we got to slounder. We came in at 9:00a.m to 6:00a.m.

Today
I mostly just shafted the small petal poles for the wheels. It took forever but I finally shafted it to the right size
Electrical
Yesterday we figured out where to place the electrical stuff on the board. We come to some problems with the pole that's going to be on the board but worked through it.

Today
Osborn High School Night was cancelled. So, the earlier post that I posted had no meaning to it since I didn't go. It was late start today. But for the robotics team it's just another day. I came here at 7:20a.m. After school we took some parts off Oscar(in case you didn't know, he's a robot). I mostly took off the spikes. It took forever to take off. Then the things at he end of the spikes were tightly on. I couldn't take them off using my fingers so I used a screw driver to pull it off. Then we took off the motored fans off by unscrewing the screws and cutting the zip ties. Then we cleaned them off since they were very dusty. After that we put away the tools and cleaned up the space. The reason we took off the parts off of Oscar was because we need those parts for the new robot.
Wednesday
Today we are going to Osborn Middle School fro High School Night. We are leaving at 5:00p.m. and coming back at 8:00p.m.

Brophey and FRC Kick-off.
Last Friday at 7:00p.m I went to Brophey. We had workshops. I came late to the first workshop so instead of doing the workshop, I just passed out things. Then I actually went to a fundraising workshop. Since I didn't raise that much money, I hoped to get a lesson on how to raise more money. Then it was over at about at 9:00p.m
On Saturday I went to FRC-Kickoff. I arrived at the school really early, at 6:00a.m. Then we waited for more kids to come. We arrived at Brophey at 7:20. There we saw the live NASA broadcasting. Where the artist from the Black Eyed Peas was at. Then from the broadcasting we saw people trying to explain what robotics is and what it really does. Next they showed us our challenge. This year we get to build a mini-bot. Which I think is really awesome. After that they gave us our kids. We looked over the rules over there. Then we left back to Carl Hayden. Where we ate and planned out things for the competetion. .
